Tatak SE™ Store Opens at Ayala Malls Fairview Terraces
Tatak SE Store opens its first shop at Ayala Malls Fairview Terraces.

The first Tatak SE™ Store opened last June 7, 2024 at Ayala Malls Fairview Terraces, Quezon City. This collective of social enterprises brings together ethically and sustainably made fashion, food, and lifestyle pieces that are proudly Filipino.

Inspired by our deep-rooted Philippine culture of bayanihan, the Tatak SE™ Store is an expression of community, collaboration, and commitment to uplifting one another. Each handcrafted product carries the stories of grit, purpose, and passion of Filipino artisans and their communities.

The store showcases a wide range of artisanal, handcrafted products that are sustainably sourced and made by communities across the Philippines.

Tatak SE™ Store will continue to expand throughout the country, providing market access to homegrown social enterprises and a platform to amplify their reach and advocacy. Its roster of brands addresses socio-economic divides, from poverty alleviation and environmental sustainability to inclusivity and economic empowerment.

Bayanihan with every buy.™ Every purchase from the Tatak SE™ Store goes a long way in enabling and empowering the grassroots communities behind these handcrafted products and pieces. The same goes for helping spread the word about social enterprises and the work that they do.

“One of the biggest challenges that social enterprises face is a lack of direct market access, which is a major reason we are opening the Tatak SE™ Store retail concept. We are targeting to open more stores across the nation in the next months and years with the hope that we can somehow mitigate this problem with access for our merchant partners and the communities that they work with,” shares Rodmark Barriga, President of the Society for the Advancement of Professional Social Entrepreneurship (SAPSE), the operators of the Tatak SE™ Store.

Barriga, who is also the co-founder and CEO of the social enterprise Palamigan Co.™, calls the Tatak SE™ Store an expression of modern bayanihan. “By opening more selling channels, like the Tatak SE™ Store, we aim to support Filipino SEs by providing much needed access to a wider audience and champion amazing and world-class Filipino products. By doing so, we hope to give voice to their advocacies, and bring uniquely Filipino stories of community far and wide.”

Tatak SE™ Store is gearing up for expansion across the metro and its first outlet in Mindanao.

Joji Pantoja, CEO and founder of the social enterprise Coffee for Peace, sees this retail concept as a means to increase exposure of Filipino SE brands and drive advocacy to ‘buy local’ and support local enterprises.

“The Tatak SE Store is an avenue for grassroots communities to promote their products, even beyond their areas of operation. This is one of the ways they can confirm that there is a market for what they have produced,” says Pantoja.

And while exposure is important, she emphasizes the need to capture the stories in those products. “Customers have to resonate with the vision of the artisan and the producers, to see this as not merely another product, but a product for a cause,” shares Pantoja.

Tatak SE™ Store is actively growing its roster of social enterprise brands, which include Balaikamay, Bambuhay, Buttons & Things, Cacao De Celo, Caritas Margins, Crafting Time Specialty Shop, Coco Deli, Coffee for Peace, Coscao Chocolate, Green Beauty & Wellness, Habi Lifestyle, Happy Helpers, Healthy Sweets Mindanao, JunkNot!, Katipuneras, Isola Handicrafts, Likhang Maragondon, Lokal Bayong, Lorna’s Gourmet, Moms Haus of Mushrooms, Rolyolikha Handicrats, Sierreza, Tsaa Laya, Tuy Arts & Designs, Villa Socorro Farm, Woven, and Wood Classics Enterprise.
